To Be Or Not To Be To be, or not to be: that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles, And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep; No more; and, by a sleep to say we end The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks That flash is heir to, tis a consummation Devoutly to be wished. To die, to sleep; To sleep erchance to dream:ay, there's the rub; For in that sleep of death what dreams may come When we have shuffled off this mortal coil, Must give us pause. AT THE WINDOW The pine trees bend to listen to the autumn wind as it mutters Something which sets the black poplars ashake with hysterical laughter; While slowly the house of day is closing its eastern shutters. Further down the valley the clustered tombstones recede, Winding about their dimness the mist's grey cerements, after The street lamps in the darkness have suddenly started to bleed. The leaves fly over the window and utter a word as they pass To the face that leans from the darkness, intent, with two dark-filled eyes That watch for ever earnestly from behind the window glass.

AMAZING GRACE Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now am found, Was blind, but now I see. T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear. And Grace, my fears relieved. How precious did that Grace appear The hour I first believed. A MOTHER LIKE THIS Oh you who longed to be comforted, You that seek refuge from a the tempest life continually parades, None can calm ills that envelope the innocent child A mother like this provides rain for your soul and when life’s hot she shades. Oh we that seek not power but a Jewel’s touch We desire very little in life who ask not for much No grand mansion, nor ships to sail the oceans in bliss Open the windows on the bow, and be blessed with a mother like this. Oh you who lay unloved, unneeded by those within sight, Be happy for just know that my mother from a Captains kiss Is there for me, and I’m here for you, To share, my special lady, a mother like this. To share my happy times, a mother to kiss To share the hugs and the hurt, a mother like this To give her strength to the world a mother like this.

NIGHT THOUGHTS Stars, you are unfortunate, I pity you, Beautiful as you are, shining in your glory, Who guide seafaring men through stress and peril And have no recompense from gods or mortals, Love you do not, nor do you know what love is. Hours that are aeons urgently conducting Your figures in a dance through the vast heaven, What journey have you ended in this moment, Since lingering in the arms of my beloved I lost all memory of you and midnight.

LIFE A CRUST of bread and a corner to sleep in, A minute to smile and an hour to weep in, A pint of joy to a peck of trouble, And never a laugh but the moans come double; And that is life! A crust and a corner that love makes precious, With a smile to warm and the tears to refresh us; And joy seems sweeter when cares come after, And a moan is the finest of foils for laughter; And that is life!
